An Akela must be a good teacher!

As Akelas from all over the world prepare to meet at the international Akela 2016 pow wow. We spoke to Njabulo Mncube from 4th Benoni Cub Pack in Gauteng.

Cubbing is fun because we can go camping.

SSA: What was your best experience with Cubs?
My best experience was making new friends.

SSA: What is the weirdest thing you ate outdoors?
I haven’t eaten anything weird outdoors yet.

SSA: What was the toughest challenge at Cubs?
The toughest challenge was to swim at the District Gala we went to.

SSA: What was the most amazing place you visited with Cubs?
The most amazing place that we went to was KwaZulu-Natal.

SSA: Can you name a few things you have learnt by being a Cub?
I learnt how to do knots and how to make a fire.

SSA: What things have you done with Cubs to help people in your community?
We collected plastic bread tags to get a wheelchair.

SSA: What did you teach your mum that you learned at Cubs?
I taught my mum how to put up a tent.

SSA: What makes a good Akela?
An Akela must be a good teacher.

SSA: Why is your Akela special?
My Akela is special because she shows us interesting stuff and is fun.

Cubbing Rocks because … it is fun.
