Welcome to 1st Durbanville Scout Group
The 1st Durbanville Scout Group is part of the Kanonkop District in Cape Town, Cape Western, South Africa. Scouting is a worldwide youth development organisation. It develops young people socially, gets them involved in the community, and teaches them many life skills. Our troop is 50 years old and has both boy and girl scouts. The Durbanville Scouts are a very strong team and feature well in most of the competitions. Please sign our guestbook while you are here.

Backwood's camp 2011 (by Arjen)

Friday September 2nd to Sunday the 4th 2011.

Ryan held his Explorer / survival camp at Hawequas. All but one member of my patrol was invited to attend this camp. I thus decided to help Ryan instead of either having my own camp or having a movie night for those who won't be attending.

Backwood's camp 2011 (by Brian)

I know Ryan won't be doing a write up; so I am going to give a summary of the events on the camp.

On Friday 2 September we arrived at Hawequas at about half past four. We led the scouts down to the river where they would be making their shelters for the duration of the weekend.
