Kontiki 2012 - Michael H

This was the best Kontiki I've ever been to - if you weren't there you missed it all. Let me walk you through everything from the beginning. I woke up the Friday morning at 7:30 amped to go to Kontiki sadly I only left at 10:00. I arrived there at 10:30 give or take. Ryan Burns was already there. He got there at 9:30 - I know that's crazy but we also need to thank him for that because he got us our camp site and our construction site as well so thanks again to Ryan Burns for all that effort.

Backwood's camp 2011 (by Arjen)

Friday September 2nd to Sunday the 4th 2011.

Ryan held his Explorer / survival camp at Hawequas. All but one member of my patrol was invited to attend this camp. I thus decided to help Ryan instead of either having my own camp or having a movie night for those who won't be attending.

Backwood's camp 2011 (by Brian)

I know Ryan won't be doing a write up; so I am going to give a summary of the events on the camp.

On Friday 2 September we arrived at Hawequas at about half past four. We led the scouts down to the river where they would be making their shelters for the duration of the weekend.

Impact of Scouting

I always used to think Scouts is boring and I always used to hate it. But when I realised that my older brother is going on camps, hikes and doing badges, I realised that it looks so nice because instead of sitting at home doing nothing, I started getting interested in Scouts and doing badges – I started to like scouts.

Gordon Shield - 2011

We offloaded our trailer and got ready for parade, after parade we waited quite some time for inspection and then headed off to find our campsite which took what felt like ages.
