From Wednesday 13th July until Friday 15th July I held my first class camp at Glen Cairn. Kudus patrol joined us for the camp and it was twice as much fun with them there. The next morning we celebrated my 16th birthday with cake and candles. We then prepared and ate breakfast. We did some advancement after this. At lunch we all decided it was time to take a break from advancement and head for the beach. We spent most of the afternoon at the beach. At about 15:00 we walked back to camp and finished up on our pioneering. We built campsite gadgets and taught the younger scouts the lashings as we tied them. The next morning it was French toast for breakfast. Just after this we held a short Scouts Own. The rest of the morning was for relaxing and building sand castles on the beach. There was a quick lunch whilst packing the cars and we left for Durbanville. We were all back at the scout hall at about 15:00I thank everyone for who attended the camp for coming and I hope they had as much fun as I did. Robbie Kotze |
