Fun as we go out together!

This year we are celebrating 100 years of Cubbing worldwide. In South Africa we are celebrating through Group, District, Regional and National events. But, if we really want to know why Cubbing Rocks, who better to ask than the Cubs themselves….

We spoke to Cyla Kruger (8) from 9th Benoni Cub Pack in Gauteng.

Cubbing is fun because we play such fun games.

SSA: What was your best experience with Cubs?
The Camp at Arrowe Park. The topic was Time Warp.

SSA: What was the toughest challenge at Cubs?
There was no though challenge at Cubs so far, its all exciting!

SSA: What was the most amazing place you visited with Cubs?
The most amazing place was Arrowe Park.

SSA: Can you name a few things you have learnt by being a Cub?
I have learnt knotting and the Scout Promise and Law.

SSA: What things have you done with Cubs to help people in your community?
We collected plastic bread tags so we could get a wheelchair for somebody in need. We also helped a guide dog.

SSA: What did you teach your mum that you learned at Cubs?
I taught my mom how to do knots.

SSA: What makes a good Akela?
A good Akela is nice and fun and also young.

SSA: Why is your Akela special?
Because she is someone who looks after us.

Cubbing Rocks because … because it is fun and we go out together!
