We are calling on Scouters, Rovers and Scouts to register and participate in the upcoming Hollard Daredevil Run 2021 and raise awareness within their communities about male cancer.
This once-off COVID-edition national event, taking place on Friday 15 October, will see thousands of brave men in purple speedos and masks take to their streets to run cancer outta their hood. This year you can run alone, with a friend or in a small group of max 5 runners. Friends, family and neighbours can also sponsor runners and raise funds towards this important cause.
Entries cost R 160.00 with all proceeds going to CANSA and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of South Africa.
Here’s how it will work:
- Register for the Daredevil Run 2021 HERE: Hollard Daredevil Run 2021 (webtickets.co.za)
- Each runner will receive a purple pack from the Daredevil Run team, which includes: a purple speedo, a water bottle, a purple mask, a Daredevil fundraising band with a QR code, all the “how to” details, and important cancer awareness information.
- Scouting members signing up should please use Scouts + their name/team name.
- We ask Scouting members to wear their Scout scarves and to WhatsApp us your photos on 068 0699 463.
Whether you are from Bloemfontein or Bellville, Scottburgh or Soweto, Pofadder or Polokwane, man up, sign up, get your gear , put on your Scout Scarf and kick cancer where it hurts!
When it comes to testicular cancer, get to know your man bits and show them some love by checking for unusual lumps or bumps. It’s easy, it’s monthly and it’s important. Remember – early detection saves lives, if prostate cancer is detected early, there’s a 95% survival rate, so get checked!
