The SSA Centenary Rover Moot is open to all invested Rovers and Squires as participants. RSes, RTCs and other warranted Scouters are welcome to attend as staff.
The moot runs over the long weekend from the 22nd to the 24th of September 2018. Transport will be available to and from the airport for those who are flying in, and transport can be arranged from Lakeside Mall or Park Station Rotunda for those arriving by bus.
Arrowe Park is a Scout-owned campsite on the banks of Homestead lake, 10 minutes away from OR Tambo International airport. Home to Gauteng Kontiki, Arrowe Park will be our base for the Moot, and our springing off point to explore the surrounding areas, including RAMSAR wetlands, local service projects, and a house Baden-Powell lived in.
During the moot, you will be camping in a patrol, and cooking as a patrol. We will supply a mess tent per patrol, and cooking equipment. You’ll need to bring the following:
- Sleeping tents (can be shared with other Rovers from your crew)
- Mess kit
- Your full uniform
- Suitable camp clothes, including clothes for water activities
- If any of your activities require special equipment, we will notify you well in advance
Rovers will be able to craft their own activities programme. To view options click here!
Entries have now closed for the Moot. There will be an open day on the 22nd of September for those who live close by, please keep an eye out for details in the coming weeks. Sign up here to be kept up to date.
