The Impact Innovators Challenge is a global programme launched by the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) as part of the Scouts for SDGs – Life Leaders Initiative. SCOUTS South Africa is proud to be one of the first National Scout Organizations piloting this exciting new initiative.
The Impact Innovators Challenge equips young people with the skills, mindset, and confidence to identify real challenges in their communities and take action through innovative, youth-led projects. By learning and applying the principles of design thinking, participants build critical problem-solving, leadership, and project management skills that prepare them for life.
The challenge supports the development of key competencies such as creative thinking, empathy, collaboration, and adaptability, which are essential for employability and success in the 21st century. It also directly contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by encouraging Scouts to tackle social and environmental issues in their own communities.
The Impact Innovators Challenge is open to all Youth Members aged 7 and older. This means Cubs, Scouts, and Rovers can participate! Each age group can engage at their own level with age-appropriate activities, and work together to create real-world impact. The challenge offers a flexible, exciting way to bring innovation and service into your Pack, Troop, or Crew programme. Don’t worry Meerkats, your turn to change the world is coming soon!
