A good Akela is patient!

Cubbing celebrations are in full swing and Akela 2016 is edging closer. We spoke to Thomas Franklin (10) from 1st Table View Cub Pack in the Western Cape.

Cubbing is so much fun because of the games that we play.

SSA: What was your best experience with Cubs?
My best experience was camping with the Cubs.

SSA: What is the weirdest thing you ate outdoors?
The weirdest thing I ate outdoors was a hotdog with tomato sauce, mustard and cheese.

SSA: What was the toughest challenge at Cubs?
The toughest challenge was popping popcorn over hot coals.

SSA: What was the most amazing place you visited with Cubs?
The most amazing place we went to was the Bum slide Rock.

SSA: Can you name a few things you have learnt by being a Cub?
I learnt how to make a buddy burner and how to make popcorn.

SSA: What things have you done with Cubs to help people in your community?
We collected bread tags for a wheelchair and also things for Santa shoe boxes.

SSA: What did you teach your mum that you learned at Cubs?
I taught my mum how to make a sausage in a Pringle can.

SSA: What makes a good Akela?
A good Akela is patient.

SSA: Why is your Akela special?
My Akela is special because my Akela spends her time with us.
