Reviewed Level-4 Covid Guidelines

Message from Chief Scout Brendon Hausberger

Dear Scouting Members,

I am sure that in recent weeks for many of you the pandemic has gone from being a matter of numbers to one of names as it impacts on people immediately known to you either through family, work or Scouting. As the numbers continue to increase, we need to be vigilant and stick to the three D’s in keeping ourselves and our loved ones safe.  In light of the President’s announcement yesterday we have revised our Safety Plan for members. Find it HERE.

On a personal note, despite following the protocols, I was exposed to an active Covid case last week at a work site meeting and have been in self-isolation as a result.  Fortunately, my test has come back negative, but it reminds you how, even with all the precautions in place, we can be placed at risk through the actions of others.

I am aware that, even prior to the President’s announcement last night, many of our Groups have suspended their face-to-face meetings and have moved, were possible, to Scouting from Home.  We know that our members will comply with the new national regulations prohibiting gatherings.  If you can, we encourage you to continue those Scouting from Home activities to the greatest extent possible.

A reminder to all our members too that registration is opening for any over 50’s to register to get the vaccine.  Get your name on the list and let’s do our bit to stem the tide.

Our thoughts and prayer go out to all of those afflicted with the illness and wish them a speedy and uneventful recovery.

Be safe and keep those around you safe too.

Yours in Scouting,

Brendon Hausberger
Chief Scout
