We have heard the call for more accessible Adult Support within some of our Regions and communities. So here it is! SCOUTS SA has launched an Adult Volunteer Support WhatsApp Group for new leaders, and adult volunteers who have limited access to support within their areas. It is called the “Scouting Support Forum”.
The Scouting Support Forum serves as a space where experienced volunteers can answer concrete questions, offer guidance and share best practices when adult volunteers are unsure of what to do, or what certain policies or badges require.
By using the WhatsApp platform, the support group is accessible, can encourage the exchange of ideas, and can build a supportive network within our SSA adult volunteer community.
Currently, the pool of volunteers ready to assist can cover areas such as Meerkats, Cubs, Scouts, Rovers, Training, Policies, SGLs, SD & Warrants, Finance & Development, International, Marketing, Safe from Harm, Scouts 4 SDGs, Air Activities, Water Activities, DSD, and Heritage.
We are volunteers like yourselves and understand that sometimes you just need some advice from someone who is in a similar role or who has been there. We look forward to getting your questions and building and growing Scouting together!
