Umbabat supports Bushbuckridge Scouts

With the recent floods and torrential rainfall in Mpumalanga, 45 Scouts in Bushbuckridge and their families were directly affected by the flooding and in need of some help.

Last week, the spirit of Scouting and community partnership shone through when the Scouts received much-needed relief in the form of 90 blankets and 900 food socks from the Umbabat Private Nature Reserve. The ongoing partnership between the nature reserve and the Mpumalanga Scout Region reflects a shared commitment to uplifting young people and supporting communities, especially in times of need.

Umbabat donation“We are very grateful to the team at Umbabat Nature Reserve for their donation that will make sure our Scouts get a warm meal and can keep warm as the weather changes. This act also shows our Scouts that you can grow through adventure and skills development, but that compassion and service are just as important,” says Regional Commissioner Manqoba Dlamini.
