Throughout South Africa’s history, young people have shown the power of acting when their communities need them most. Today, SCOUTS SA members continue that tradition through service.

Mandela Day is not simply about completing 67 minutes of community service. It is about recognising that every young person can create positive change.

Across the country, Scout Groups are planning projects that will support families, strengthen communities and care for the environment. Some will provide warm meals for community members through Jars of Hope. Others will support local organisations, clean public spaces or lend a helping hand to those who need it most.

These projects may look different, but they all have one thing in common: young people taking responsibility and making a difference. When Scouting members put their values into action, positive change follows.
