Empowered women are inspiring leaders

This Women’s Month we are asking young women how Scouting empowers them to be changemakers in their communities. For SA Rover Zimkhona Zimo, being a woman in Scouting is not only about her own leadership journey, it’s about using the skills, confidence and opportunities she has gained to create opportunities for other young women.

“Being a woman in Scouting has given me an opportunity to work closely with other young women. With a lot of support from SCOUTS South Africa, I am able to help young women develop skills, instil confidence, and empower them to lead. I also remind them that they are important, as working with young women also means that we are working with future leaders. Being in SCOUTS South Africa has helped me a great deal and I am very fortunate to have learned those skills and get the opportunity to pass them on.”
