SSA Centenary Rover Moot

2018 marks 100 years of Rovering and in true SA tradition we are celebrating it at Arrowe Park from 22 to 24 September 2018 at the SSA Centenary Rover Moot.

Who can attend?

As we look back at a century of young adult Scouting, the Gauteng Rover Advisory Council invites all invested Rovers and Squires to join in the fun as participants. RSes, RTCs and other warranted Scouters are welcome to attend as staff.

What to expect?

In the centenary year, we will gather to move forward in our Rover journey, and grow in service to ourselves, to the Movement and to others. The team has been hard at work putting the event together, and we are excited to welcome you to a truly South African centenary celebration, looking back at the very roots of Scouting by visiting one of Baden-Powell’s first training grounds in Modderfontein, Arrowe Park. Take your Crew into the future with the National Rover Youth Forum, where topics of Rovering will be put forward to the forum for discussion.

During the Moot, you will be camping in a patrol with Rovers from the rest of the country, giving you a chance to make new friends with fellow Rovers. We have a wide range of adventurous and cultural activities, and those attending will be invited to choose their preferred activities.

Venue:

The Centenary Rover Moot will be held at Arrowe Park in Benoni, Gauteng.

Cost:

The total cost of the Moot (excluding your transport to and from Arrowe Park, ORT or the designated bus pickup points) will be R900. A “save a place” deposit of R250 is required by the end of July.
