Every volunteer contribution matters!

Message from Chief Scout Khonzaphi Mdaka
Dear Scouting family,

Today, #internationalvolunteerday, I extend my deepest gratitude to every volunteer who forms the heart of SCOUTS South Africa. Our Movement exists and continues to thrive because of your unwavering commitment, your generosity of spirit, and the countless “2 hours a week” you invest in shaping young people into responsible, compassionate citizens.

This year’s theme, “Every contribution matters”, beautifully captures what we see in Scouting every day. We recognise that people contribute in different ways and at different times in their lives. Some of you volunteer weekly, monthly, or on a project basis, but know that no action is too small, and no effort goes unnoticed.

Whether you lead or help with a Den, Pack, Troop, Crew, support events, manage committees, mentor youth, or simply lend a helping hand when needed, your contribution strengthens our organisation and makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our youth and within our communities.

To every volunteer: thank you. You are the backbone of our Movement, and your dedication ensures that Scouting remains a beacon of hope, of skills development and learning, and of service for young people across our nation.
