In today’s connected world, we’re spending more time online than ever before. Whether it’s virtual meetings, social platforms, or connecting with friends. As Scouts, our motto “Be Prepared” applies just as much in the digital world as it does outdoors.
This week we are focusing on being Safe from Harm and are taking a moment to think about how we act online, and how we protect ourselves and others.
How do you engage with others online?
Take time to familiarise yourself with SCOUTS South Africa’s Social Media Policy and strengthen how you and your Scouts engage online.
Run a safety check
Have you done a safety check of your social media platforms and Scout Group websites? These simple actions can make your online spaces safer:
- Change your social media passwords

- Report concerning content such as scams or harassment
- Read through World Scouting’s online safety toolkit
