The 2nd Africa Scout Moot has brought together young people from across Africa to connect, learn and lead. Every conversation, challenge and shared experience reflects the power of young people working together to shape a better future. That same spirit is captured in the Moot’s official anthem.
Written by SCOUTS South Africa Rover and Ceremonies Lead, Paige Langley, the anthem was created by combining human creativity with innovative technology. The lyrics, vision and message were entirely youth-led, while AI was used as an accessible tool to transform that vision into music before being carefully edited and refined by Paige.
For the Organising Committee, this was about finding creative solutions. With limited resources available for professional music production, technology became an opportunity to empower young people to bring their ideas to life without compromising the heart of the message.
The anthem celebrates friendship, unity, service and the richness of Africa’s diversity. It reminds us that when young people come together across cultures, languages and borders, they can inspire hope, strengthen communities and build a more peaceful world.
Innovation is most powerful when it serves people. By combining creativity, collaboration and new technology, the 2nd Africa Scout Moot has created more than a song—it has created a lasting reminder that together, we can go Phezulu Nangaphezulu (“Higher and Higher”).
