This Women’s Month we are asking women how Scouting empowers them to be changemakers in their communities. SCOUTS SA content creator Caroline Boshoff spoke to Angolan Scouter Arminda Helena E de Mario Calupeteca about what Scouting means to her and how as a volunteer she can carry our values into her community.
“I first want to thank God for our lives and Scouting. Being a Scout makes a big difference in our behaviour. It really is different, as we are in different places. Scouting differentiates us as a good woman or a good person according to the ideas and the Laws of Scouting. As a woman carrying these Laws in my life, I have the opportunity to go out in my community in Angola to make a difference and show what we do in Scouting.”
